What’s in a name? Justina McCaffrey changes hers.
September 1, 2015 (Ottawa, Canada) – Four years after moving to Toronto, couture wedding dress designer Justina McCaffrey will return to Ottawa on Sept. 22 – with a new name and plans to expand her manufacturing base.
Justina, who has lived and worked in Toronto since 2011, will be in Ottawa to speak to the Ladies Who Lunch superconnectors’ group, which recently reached more than 8,000 members worldwide.
“Women go through different stages in their lives and quite often, our names reflect the stage we’re at. I’m now expanding and building something new for myself. I was born Antoniuk, but a friend suggested Antonia, which I loved. So Justina Antonia will reflect this new part of my life.”
She says her business will remain Justina’s Bridal for the foreseeable future.
She also has plans to expand her manufacturing source, in order to increase volume and streamline production to meet growing demand across North America.
“I’m getting to the point where I can’t do this out of my condo anymore,” she says, laughing. “Sales are getting so large and there are many store owners reaching out to me that it’s time to make a move. Ottawa is a major contender for my manufacturing base, but there are many factors to consider before a final decision is made.”
Also speaking at the next Ladies Who Lunch event is local entrepreneur, Andrea Marcus, who owns mainstream independent cosmetic and makeup company, Mistura Beauty Solutions.
The popular networking event will be held at the National Arts Centre, in conjunction with Full Bloom and Marry Me Productions. It includes a marketplace of local vendors, a three-course meal and giveaways.
